Origin: Mulberry can be found in the Southeastern United States.

Color: The heartwood of Mulberry is generally straight grained and golden in color with an off-white sapwood. As Mulberry ages it can darken to a reddish brown color. It is noted to have a similar appearance to Osage Orange.

Janka Hardness: 1680 (medium)

Durability & Weather Resistance: Rated as very durable in regard to decay resistance and resistant to insect attack.

Workability: Mulberry is easy to work with by both hand and machine. It is known to turn, glue, and finish well.

Uses: Mulberry is used in furniture and turnings. Because of its durability and good weathering characteristics, Mulberry is also used in fence posts..
