  • Up to 64" wide
  • Up to 15' long

Origin: There are many varieties of Eucalyptus; we carry a variety known as Old Growth Red River Gum. This species is found in along the rivers of Australia. All of our current inventory was salvaged from storm damaged trees.

Color: It has a distinctive red to deep red-brown color. It has a coarse texture with the grain regularly interlocked with the gum veins. Often you can find slabs with fiddle-back figuring.

Janka Hardness: 2160 (hard)

Decay and Weather Resistance: It is rated moderate to very durable. Australian Red Gum is sensitive to humidity but otherwise great for exterior applications and contruction.

Workability: Australian Red Gum is a very hard, dense wood and can be difficult to work with.

Uses: Popular for furniture because of its color and figuring. It is great for outdoor use in heavy commercial construction, framing, flooring, and joinery.
